Dec 15. Preparing for Christmas here after a hectic fall. Just got back from the NCHA Futurity in Ft Worth and are thus behind on most fronts. Energized and pumped to get back to business though with the fillies. Will be long and repetitious day's ahead all winter that will hopefully pay off come next fall. Exciting to see how Cat takes to cutting and then it's time to start Polly. We got a way's to go though before we'll turn in a performance like Futurity champ Oh Miss Caroline!

Nov 1. We're working the fillies as much as we can. Cat on the cows or the pro-cutter, Ritzy & Annelie is out jogging at every opportunity. I've ridden our friend Eva's arabian mare about 10 times or so and she's picking things up in a hurry. Really soft and responsive. Should start messing with Polly too, and will here in a couple of weeks.
Oct 3. Got Kick The Cat on cows this week end. She's doing great! A bit weary at first but she gets more and more confident.
Brady got to feel `em out too.
Sept 23. Time flies doesn't it? Feels like just the other day we took the pics of Kick The Cat below! The first ever Scandinavian Cutting Futurity is in the books and really think it was a success considering. We never thought it would draw hordes of horses, simply because there aren't that many around. Only six horses in the futurity classes after scratches was low, but it's a start. We'll keep chipping away at the rough edges and present an even better event next year. A Great judges clinic was held by NCHA director of judges, Russell McCord! Well attended and really well recieved by the participants! We all came away with a deeper understanding of what the judges look for and how to cut successfully!
Leos Little Chrom won the Open Futurity and MLKittycat the Non Pro.
Pics from both Friday and Saturday's action can be found here.
Aug 1. Things are more or less back to normal here after broken hands, sick horses and what not. It's been a great summer weather wise and we had high hopes of getting alot done on our time of from work. Atleast we got the arena done and Lars, our landlord has kindly graded a new road for us to train on, thank you!
Kick The Cat is such a joy to work with! So soft and supple but with a lot of action in there also. It's up to me to tap it just right, show her the way and keep her out of trouble. We aim to get Ritzy back to work this week also. She looks alot better and we need to get her back in shape.

Lars & Eva on the new track.
June 21. We find ourselves in a great situation here at Snösvad! The family, with horses, cats & dog included all thrive in this wonderful atmosphere. Great people all around and the country surrounding us is quite beautiful. As I type this I'm in a cast though with a broken hand, Kick The Cat hurt her pastern again and Annelies new trotter mare isn't progressing like we hoped. Stuff like this is part of the business though, something you know will allway's be a part of it when your dealing with animals and I think we'll come out ok this time too. I'm really anxious to get back on Cat. She showed imense promise and feels really good. Sensetive and "feely" and I sure hope she holds up. Got a couple of horses to break (4 to be exact) and really don't have time for this broken hand thing! Another week and the cast comes off!
May 9. We're settled in and though some chores remain at the old place we now officially reside at Snösvad, our new home! Things couldn't be better here as far as horsetraining, keeping livestock and raising kids. Great place & Great people!

March 31. We´ve officially sold our house and in a couple of weeks 4Corners Ranch will relocate to Malköping. Will post pics and info on the new place as soon as we´re settled in. Also sold our great broodmare Justa Bita Pep this week. We are sad to see her go but we had to do something to cut costs and try to get this moving business started off in the right direction. We´re stuck with double leases here for how long, we don´t know. She´ll go to a great situation, serious breeders that will surely give her a chance to keep producing outstanding babies.
March 1. Getting abit more tempered here after a pretty severe winter. Horses are still doing good, havn´t been able to work them as much as I wanted though. Mostly been fooling around with Kick the Cat and she´s coming along nicely. Hopefully get on her back in a couple of weeks.

Jan 26. New year, new possibillities! Mid winter over here. Cold, cold and snow aplenty. Have had a pretty uneventful winter so far. Horses doing good, youngsters growing and the older ones too! Got some pics from yesterday.

Elton frozen solid!

Gizmo the dog

December 23. More snow and cold weather is expected. Waterlines frozen in the barn but other than that things are great.

December 2. Snowy and cold pretty much sums up our November! Horses are doing ok, Polly´s weaned and Cat is maturing into one fine animal. Hope to start her early next spring although there´s no rush, no futurity to aim for so she´ll be setting the tempo. Held a hackamore clinic a few weeks back and I must say it was a lot of fun! Things to work on absolutely to get more efficient and give the participant more individual attention but it was a blast to share and educate people on things I really care for. Not making a career of it or something I will actively pursue though, but if there´s an interest and I have the time I´m game for another clinic! Shutting things down for the winter more or less and will try to focus on the homefront and our own horses this year.
October 29. Life is lullying along as we prepare for winter. Most of our outside horses are gone and we´re looking at our options for the new year. We´re downsizing a little as we won´t have as much pastureland in 2011 as in years past. Seriously considering putting the breeding operation on hold for a couple of years as the market is just dead. We´ll focus on the youngsters we presently have here and see what becomes of them before raising another foal.
October 1. Not much happening at the homefront. Some of our clients are bringing their horses home this weekend. Broodmare Sessan C.D. and her colt Superman aswell as Helenes yearling filly Diva will leave us. Thank You guy´s! It´s been a pleasure looking after your horses this summer.
Brady and I are lullying along and we work more and more in the bridle. He´s doing ok and moving along as expected. Some issues still with stiffness and brace but nothing major. The filly Kick The Cat has been operated on and looks to be healing up ok. We´ll hang on to Molly until November when she heads to her new owners.
September 15. Realised how much I miss the bulls...They were a ton of fun to have around. Gave me a chance to get some good things accomplished on Brady. He really grew in to a solid rope horse working them things. The cowwork also benefitted by having them around. We´ll see when/if we find the time to load up and find some work elsewhere. Here´s a series of our last outing....

September 1. We sold Seet Lil Angel the other day to Mimmi and Stefan in Leksand. She´ll go to a great situation up there and we wish her and her new owners the best. She´ll be here until November though. Thank You Mimmi & Stefan!!
August 26. Finally got some web galleries from the fiesta up and running (I hope). Check them out here: Vaquero Fiesta 2010.
